This paper reports on a design process ofpervasive computing installations for achildren’s interactive library. The designprocess involved a wide range of decisive partiesof the domain and the process was designed sothat the collectively developed design conceptscould suit the needs and interests of the manyparties. Narratives and sketches were used forinquiries and communication, and the conceptsand their iterations illustrate the process ofdesign and how the physical qualities of theenvironment and the artefacts played a centralrole in the development of the concepts
