This paper closely examines two of the most well-known literary works written by the Nobel laureate, John Steinbeck, namely The Grapes of Wrath and Of Mice and Men; in addition to the novels, the paper also analyzes three film adaptations that could be employed in the classrooms. From the ways working-class people lived during the Great Depression to the destruction of the American Dream, this study reveals why Steinbecks novels became the challenging pieces of art
