Hellenistic culture in Coelsyria with overview on ancient city of Jerusalem and Beth Shean/Scythopolis

Rad se bavi problematikom helenizacije povijesnog područja Celesirije (danas područje Izraela). Kroz biblijske i antičke izvore moguće je vidjeti na koji način i u kojoj mjeri grčka kultura prodire na istok i zajednice kao što su Židovi. Također, uz pomoć arheoloških nalaza moguće je vidjeti u kojoj mjeru su helenizirani gradovi na tom području, te gdje se posebno helenistička kultura isticala. Rad želi približiti sliku i način utjecaja jedne kulture na drugu kroz dvije vrste izvora. Usporedba dva antička grada, Jeruzalema i Skitopolisa, približava nam proces na koji način se grčka kultura širila.The thesis is about problem of Hellenization of historical area od Coelsyria (today Israel). Throughout biblical and ancient sources it is possible to see in which way and how much Greek culture cleaves on the East, especially in the society like Jews society. Also, with help of archaeological finds it is possible to see how much are Hellenized cities on above mentioned area and where is Hellenistic culture is dominant. The thesis wants to bring closer approach, method and image of influence of one culture to another thought two kinds of sources. In the comparison of two ancient cities, Jerusalem and Scythopolis, the process of arisen Hellenistic culture is visible
