The article focuses on three wisdom-related Hebrew roots (HKM, BYN, YD’) (1) to clarify their meanings and abstract nominal functions on the basis of the grapheme symbolic; (2) to perform a meaning-differentiating contextual analysis of those roots; (3) to familiarize the reader with their content while examining the biblical sapiential texts (which will inevitably bring to mind the practice of self-interpretation). The Tanakh employs to this end great rhetorical figures: paradoxes, anthropomorphization, allegories, symbols and metaphors
