Intertekst, historia i (auto)ironia : szkice o twórczości Tadeusza Różewicza

The very book constitutes a collection of essays combining interpretative- analytic considerations on particular works by Tadeusz Różewicz with an attempt to define the specificity of his play in references and evaluation of the modi operandi of the world surrounding him. It is also a reflection on his attitude towards the most important categories of humanistics, i.e. the subjectivity and poetical „I”, history and the load of experience, the congruence of the poetic word to the life matter, irony and self-irony, identity built on memory and a reflexive reception of reality in its most important and trivial forms, as well as others’ works and words included in a poetic fabric of his own works. Intertextuality of the works by Różewicz is hence very widely understood: an intertext is both a different literary work (also a different text by Różewicz himself), and a cultural formation of a given epoch, a special historical moment, covering various forms of transmission, a language of media or criticism addressed to poet’s works, thanks to which the researchers, experts and translators try to reveal „the mystery of a poem” by Różewicz. And despite the fact that particular sketches treat about various aspects of his writings (connections his poems have with poetry by Norwid, Staff or metapoetic or worldview-historiosophic issues), some of them reach as far as the joint issues, which brings about a poetic density and coherence when it comes to Różewicz consistently building a characteristic trend of thematology and a series of reference points around a group of basic notions and cultural pillars
