The article is an attempt, situated in the theory of art, to reflect over the issue of interpretation in experiencing art, paying special attention to the plastic arts and music. Considerations concentrate on first of all selected aspects of understanding and defining interpretation to move to various levels of the functioning of this category within the scope of visual arts and music accordingly.
