The article is an attempt at analyzing specific journalist opinions. These are author’s comments concerning texts that were rewarded or nominated in the Grand Press competition. These self‑stories about texts allow for entering into the issues of the journalist identity. One can find there the phenomena concerning the way of understanding their own profession, the sense of mission, and awareness of the journalist workshop. At the same time, the majority of texts gives away the secrets of working on the text as well as circumstances of its creation.
