A collection of Kazania niedzielne… (1708) by Antoni Węgrzynowicz is devoted to seven deadly sins. A separate sermon the author dedicated to zelotypia — a form of jealousy occuring between spouses. Fragments of the Holy Bible, which refer to that phenomenon, Węgrzynowicz interprets in favour of women, using the claims and the authority of the Chuch Fathers and other Christian writers, and emphasising the fact that responsibility for a relationship has to be shared by both spouses. Examples which illustrate tragic consequences of zelotypia: i.a. murders committed by husbands on the basis of false suspicions, constitute an important part of the argument.
