The KLOE apparatus is a general purpose detector located at the Frascati phi factory DA Phi PNE. During the test period similar to 100 nb(-1) of events have been detected, while during the next few months 100 pb-l of integrated luminosity are scheduled. In this article we give a brief description of the KLOE detector and its performance and rye discuss the first relevant measurements to be made
