Negativsymptome sind ein Kernmerkmal der Schizophrenie. Ihre Erfassung und Therapie sind komplex. Patienten mit kognitiver Dysfunktion und psychomotorischer Verlangsamung erfüllen nicht immer die Kriterien einer Schizophrenie nach DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders). Bei der Diagnose einer Schizophrenie mit negativen Symptomen sollte immer auch differenzialdiagnostisch die Diagnose einer chronischen affektiven Störung in Erwägung gezogen werden.Negative symptoms are a core feature of schizophrenia.
