Allergic immunotherapy (AIT) today represents a therapeutic practice for the treatment of allergic diseases such as rhinitis or asthma and is recognized as the only treatment able to modify the natural history of the disease. Administering gradually increasing doses of the causative allergen, AIT, has the objective of achieving immune tolerance against allergens. One of the administration routes most used in clinical practice is represented by the sublingual route.
