Tayassu tajacu, popularly known as collared peccary, is a wild species found from the southern U.S. to northern Argentina and is abundantly found in Brazil. Its main feature is the "collar" of white bristle around the neck. They are omnivores and commonly consumed as a source of protein for coastal and indigenous populations.
