Summary. -Photoemission and inverse-photoemission spectrum for a five-band Hubbard model by using numerical diagonalization were calculated. We investigated the excited states confirming the generic picture of a charge transfer insulator also in presence of apical oxygen orbitals and of the copper d3l2_rz orbitals. How the states of ai simmetry might be observed in low-energy photoemission is also discussed. ©Societô Italiana di Fisica
