The properties of the radio emission of EAS are investigated, in particular by reconstructing the lateral distribution of the emission on an event-by-event basis. With a performed amplitude calibration of the radio signals for each LOPES antenna the absolute value of the field strength is known. The obtained most probable value of the scale parameter results in R=125m. By comparisions with Monte Carlo simulations a systematically flatter lateral distribution was obtained for the measurements
