We show that the light spectra of atoms with a superheavy nucleus may be important for our understanding of the processes in supercritical fields. The shape is obtained of a spectral line emitted by an atom with a superheavy nucleus. We study the connection of the light part of the spectrum with the parameters characterizing the nucleus decay. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd
