Alternative campus self-defense course: investigating student participant impact; a qualitative case study. This study examined the impact of an alternative self-defense course taught to college age students. The course was designed to address the risks of campus sexual assault. A unique component was the construction of the instructor perpetrators. The course provided participants the opportunity to interact in a final exam with an un-padded instructor to create a realistic representation of the campus serial rapist.
