With the wave of baby boomers nearing retirement and increasing demands on the United States' healthcare system, there is growing pressure on policy makers to find ways to reduce healthcare costs. The Successful Aging Model, which suggests that individuals remain physically and mentally active and socially engaged, combined with data about the types of adult education courses taken by adults age 55 and older, provides information to utilize adult education as one way to address health issues for an aging population.
