While learning a foreign language it is significant not only to differentiate between relevant and irrelevant sound peculiarities but also produce their distinctive and indistinctive sound characteristics. Therefore, Lithuanian and English have been compared for this purpose. Still, any notable scientific work related to phoneme differential signs comparative analysis of Lithuanian and English has not been carried out. Such a comparative analysis could be a valuable contribution not only to theoretical but also to applied phonetics.
