The links between antisocial behavior and school bonding in adolescence

The article deals with a problem of relationship between school bonding and antisocial behavior in adolescence. The objective of the present study was to identify the associations between school bonding (as defined by attachment to school, negative school environment, safety in school, perceived academic motivation and peer victimization) and three levels of antisocial behavior (as defined by conduct problems, delinquent behavior and severe antisocial behavior) in the subgroups of young and late adolescents as well as boys and girls. The results revealed no differences in mean levels of behavior problems, delinquent and severe antisocial behavior in young and late adolescent subgroups but gender group differences on the all variables of antisocial behavior. The analysis of school bonding revealed no differences on all variables except negative school environment among young and late adolescents as well as safety in the school among boys and girls. Teacher support and peer victimization appeared the most important aspects of school bonding to be associated with antisocial behavior in the adolescents under study.Straipsnyje nagrinėjama paauglių saitų su mokykla ir asocialaus elgesio sąryšio problema. Tyrimo tikslas – įvertinti jaunesniųjų ir vyresniųjų paauglių, merginų ir vaikinų saitų su mokykla sąryšį su įvairaus lygmens jų asocialiu elgesiu. Gauti rezultatai atskleidė, kad jaunesniųjų ir vyresniųjų paauglių asocialaus elgesio raiška nesiskyrė. Lyties skirtumų analizė parodė, kad vaikinų elgesio problemos, delinkventus ir asocialus elgesys stipriau išreikštas nei merginų. Jaunesnieji paaugliai neigiamiau vertino mokyklos aplinką, merginos nurodė didesnį saugumą mokykloje, palyginti su vaikinais. Tyrimas parodė, kad mokytojų parama bei neigiama santykių su bendraamžiais patirtis yra labiausiai su paauglio asocialaus elgesio raiška susiję saitų su mokykla aspektai
