Gymnasium council and their role

This article analyzes the problem - the school board role in school management. This is an urgent problem in Lithuania, since the lack the management of community activity, important initiatives in education issues. The school board is a link connecting the members of the community and their relationship to improve school performance. Activities should be promoted through the school council. Therefore, the school board should be based on the new public management principles of "new public management argues that citizen participation is essential for democratic governance, because citizenship is not only the individual interests, but also social values, aims and concern for others" (Guogis, 2009) is more efficient, more effective work in favor of the school. This means that the school board action must be activated and combined into its activities in the wider society. The objects of research are school board activities. Objective of the study is the school board role in school management. The main objectives of this article are to discuss the School Board of theoretical framework, to examine the School Council for the regulation, to perform an empirical inquiry and the role of the School Council High School administration. The paper is divided into two parts: the first part is a problem that raised and discussed school board business analysis. In the second part involves representatives of the Board that includes teachers, students, parents and other community members. The investigation revealed deficiencies in performance
