The profiled department of the higher educational teacher training establishment may not train teachers without closely cooperating with general education schools. This is a complex problem caused by multiple factors. The research aims to disclose the key activity areas of VPU Department of Geography facilitating improvement of future geography teacher training. The research subject—cooperation between schools and Department of Geography cooperation to better train geography teachers based on the latest achievements, the best practice and methodological innovations. The research methods used are monitoring, individual conversations with pupils and instructors, questionnaires, teacher activity result summary as the outcome of their professional selection and professional qualifications. Based on the outcomes it was established that general education schools and VPU Department of Geography must cooperate as scientific progress takes pace, as well as studies and schools develop
