Comparison of the evolution of cultural memory in Lithuania's Provisional and current capitals leads to some conclusions. Firstly, it can be maintained that cultural memory in Lithuania's two capitals has been a phenomenon which underwent constant changes. It is worth noting that fundamental changes occurred in the second decade of the Independent Republics. Cultural memory underwent serious transformations in the period of" 1929- 1931 in the Provisional capital and changes started in approximately 10-15 years of the Independence of the Republic of Lithuania in nowadays Vilnius.
