Crisis of the European identity in moral and political aspect

The article analyses the retention of the national identity in Lithuania in the context of the problem of preserving European identity. Though Europe is defined as a community of values, Europe loses its previous identity and the sense of values and finds itself at the crossroad of morality by applying moral relativism, eliminating the heritage of Christian culture from the public sphere, with the connivance of anti-western attitudes. The legitimacy of multi-culturalism and depoliticized society, giving prominence to the secular intolerance in Europe weaken the resistance of the European culture to wide-scale immigration from the Islamic world
