Peculiarities and interrelations of behavioral and emotional difficulties of teenagers from foster care homes and complete families

The article reviews specific issues connected to the age of adolescence, and discusses behavioural and emotional difficulties and personality features of teenagers living in foster homes and complete families; the article also examines individual differences. Comparative aspect is employed to analyse connections between conduct of teenagers living in diverse environment and their emotional difficulties and features of personality. It was found that teenagers at foster homes tend to display social and attention difficulties as well as internal and external problems, compared to teenagers from complete families. The study has also found that children at foster homes have significantly lower extraversion, communication with others, honesty/consciousness and openness to experience marks than teenagers in complete families, whereas the latter display significantly lower level of neuroticism. The study has shown that certain features of personality of teenagers in complete families and in teenagers in foster homes are related to both internal and external problems and difficulties related to attention and social life
