Peculiarities of lecturers' motivation in colleges

The article analyzes the statements by Lithuanian and foreign authors on motivation and motivational tools, most frequently used in organizations’ activities. As in case of other organizations motivation of the staff, necessary to be able to implement the raised targets and prepare specialists, able to easily orient in the constantly changing modern world, has influence to the results of colleges’ activities. During the quality study, with the help of interview it was identified which motives of teachers’ activities and which motivation tools are applied in private and state owned colleges. It was established that heads of colleges, when motivating teachers, use traditional tools and insufficiently use the moral encouragement. The results of the study have helped to identify the ways for development of the existing teachers’ motivation system in order for them to work responsibly, earnestly and to be loyal to their institutions
