Martyrology of Vincent Borisevičius.

Aptariamos Vincento Borisevičiaus bylos peržiūros išvados, reabilitacija.After examining the tragic lifestory of Bishop V. Borisevičius his magnanimity is displayed in his love for God and neighboor. Truly he became a man of suffering through the trials and tribulations he underwent courageously in defence of truth and Christ's Church. Unjustly condemned, he proved faithful to the end. His light shines all the more as seen by his posthumus rehabilitation by the same people who condemned him to death. These conclusions may be drawn: 1. What is particular about his case is his forgiveness of the bolschevic accusors with their compaign of lies. Their methods obviously ignored truth and goodness of moral values. Wasremained was brutality, cruelty, pain, lies and a death sentence for being responsible, religions and morally upright. 2. Under physical and psychological pressure, the strong will of the bishop, his lively religious faith, his heroic love for God and man, especially the downtrodden were all apparent. He showed no fear in face of demonic contempt for Christ's Church which sought to destroy the representatives of God's kingdom on earth. Bishop Vincentas Borisevičius gave his life in fulfillment of his mission which was to love God and neighbour. He was not superhuman but in his painful plight sought strength from a super-human source-God was the rock of his resistance. K. Gurskis, a fellow prisoner with the Bishop, in Vilnius KGB isolation cell II writes: He was harshly interogated over two weeks, day and night each morning when the guards would distribute bread and sugar, he would be taken out of his cell until evening. In the evening, the guards would take him for interogation again, when the other prisoners were told to sleep. Can a person resist such pressure for a long time being denied sleep and food. Only with Gods help could he continue. Those who sought to force a false confession fried many ways to break the will of the bishop, with shouts and strikes but the bishop would not bend. He did not show hate towards his persecutors, nor did he complain of great pain. Instead he said God will help. The courage we witnessed helped us to endure. He rendered testimony about how to love God (Bible, Vilnius, 1998; Gurskis, Last Months of suffering, 1991, p. 1-2; Stancikas, Bogomolovaitė, Bishop Vincent Borisevičius trial and death, 1996, p. 4-5). Similarly A. Kavaliauskas recalls in his article „In the same cell with the bishop". The unflinching fidelity of faith in God is highlighted: "His spirt and peace, trust in God's will and providence would influence us all to love Christ more. That is how he remained in my eyes - contemplative and strong. He would greet with the words: 'Garbe Jėzui Kristui", bless and leave. I fait peace in my soul - even to face death" (Kavaliauskas, In the same cell with the bishop, 2000, p. 8). Both these witness accounts testify to the great humiliation the bishop underwent and his pastoral care for his fellow and praying with them. According to A.
