In the XX century intensive globalisation and urbanization occurred, they both stimulated development of transport system, improvement and expansion of industry, better work opportunities in cities, migration of people to cities, appearance and spread of new technologies. These and other factors influenced change of territories of cities and towns – it manifested as enlargement of cities and change in their structure.
