Diversity of Region Conception in Regional Researches

Amžių sandūroje regiono samprata tapo ypač populiari. Nepaisant to, kad terminas plačiai vartojamas, sąvokos turinys ir esmė vis dėlto nėra vienareikšmiai ir neginčijami. Straipsnyje nagrinėjama regiono sampratos įvairovė socialiniuose-regioniniuose tyrimuose. Pagrindinė straipsnio idėja, kad įvairiuose tyrimuose, kur nagrinėjami regionai, vyrauja beveik tapatus ir abstraktus regiono apibrėžimas, tačiau turinys, kuriuo pripildoma ši abstrakti sąvoka, jos taikymo kontekstas yra visiškai skirtingi. Dėl geografinės regiono etimologijos, teritorinė-erdvinė įvairovė (t. y. masto samprata) naudojama kaip metodologinis pagrindas.Following the turn of a century, a conception of region became especially popular. Beside the fact that the term is widely used, the content and essence of the conception are not homologous and undisputable. The article looks at variety of regional conception in social-regional researches. The key idea of the article suggests that various researches on regions are predominated by almost identical and abstract definition of a region, although the content that fills the abstract definition as well as context of application are absolutely different. Due to geographic etymology of a region, a territorial-spatial variety (i.e. the conception of scale) is used as a methodological basis
