Since October, 1965, the authors repeated Geodimeter surveys for a base-line net in Matsushiro and observed horizontal strain accumulation successfully. The following are the conclusions drawn from them: 1) Strain, which predominates in the NS-direction, accumulated most actively during the period of November-December, 1965. Mode of the strains as represented by the principal axes harmonizes surprisingly well with the seismic force system there. 2) Accumulated strain energy reached an amount comparable to that of seismic energy.
