Heat flow measurements were made at 31 stations in the middle and southwestern Okinawa Trough to investigate the thermal structure and hydrothermal activity near the surface. The heat flow in the central graben of the southwestern Okinawa Trough is highly variable, ranging from 30 to 180 mW/m2. The variability can be attributed to hydrothermal circulation associated with recent volcanic intrusions.
