Learning from text has been focused in recent text comprehension researches. In those researches they use instructional texts and/or explanatory texts that can be used for educational purposes. Most of them have examined the interaction of readers\u27understanding level, textbase or situation model, and prior knowledge with text structure. This article provides an overview of those literture from viewpoint of text coherence and text content. We argue that social scientific texts should be diffferentiated from natural scientific texts in the researches on text comprehension and on learning from text
