-196℃における木材の曲げ性状

The bending properties of 12 kinds of wood and 3 kinds of wood-based materials at -196℃ were examined. The effect of moisture content was investigated on spruce wood, and compared with that at temperatures above -180℃. The results are summarised as follows: (1) MOE and MOR at -196℃ for woods were on average 1.6 times and 2 times as much as that at 20℃, respectively. (2) For wood-based materials, MOE and MOR at -196℃ were 1.8 times and 1.4 times as much as that at 20℃, respectively. (3) MOE at -196℃ shifted to the lower side from the extension of the linear line between -180℃ and 0℃ when moisture content was over 19.0 percent. (4) MOR at -196℃ shifted to the lower side from the extension of the linear line between -180℃ and 0℃ even when moisture content was 0 percent. (5) MOE at -196℃ also showed a maximum value at about 5 percent moisture content. (6) MOR at -196℃ was hardly affected by moisture content. (7) As for the water-saturated speciems, MOE and MOR at -196℃ differed with cooling methods from 20℃ to -196℃. (8) In some wood species, a difference was found in fracture modes at -196℃ and 20℃.－196℃における木材及び木質材料の曲げ性状を調べた。供試材は比重の異なる12樹種と合板，ハードボードおよびフェノール樹脂含浸ブナ積層材であった。試験体の含水率は約13％であった。また，スプルース材について含水率の影響を調べ，－180℃から0℃までの結果と比較した。素材の寸法は厚さ（半径方向）0.5cm，幅（接線方向）1.0cm，長さ（繊維方向）13cmであった。木質材料の場合は材料の種類によって厚さが若干異なった。曲げ試験（スパン10cm，中央集中柾目面荷重）は試験片を－196℃の液体窒素中に一定時間保持した後，液体窒素中で行った。得られた結果は次の通りである。1）素材の－196℃における曲げヤング率は20℃の時の1.40～1.84倍，曲げ強さは1.52～2.57倍であった。2）木質材料の－196℃における曲げヤング率は20℃の時の1.53～2.21倍，曲げ強さは1.07～1.68倍であった。20℃の値に対する－196℃の値の割合は，素材では曲げヤング率の方が大きかったが，木質材料では曲げ強さの方が大きかった。3）－196℃の曲げヤング率は含水率が12.7％より低い場合には－180℃から0℃の間の直線の延長線上にあったが，含水率が19.0％より高い場合には直線の延長線より低い値を示した。曲げ強さは含水率が0％の場合でも延長線より低い値を示した。4）－196℃においても，曲げヤング率は含水率5％付近で極大値を示した。5）含水率0％から28.5％の範囲では，－196℃の曲げ強さはほとんど含水率の影響を受けなかった。6）飽水材の－196℃における曲げヤング率及び曲げ強さは常温から－196℃への冷却方法によって異なった。7）－196℃と20℃における木材の曲げ破壊形状は樹種によっては若干違いが認められた
