La cantaleta de la educación

The idea behind this article is to highlight the importance for junior and senior high school students to undertake the conscientious reading of four to six books per year and acquiring the skills necessary to draft brief, clear, and coherent reflections on the former rather than sticking to the compulsory reading of specific (and usually long) curricular lists and contents. The article also suggests recruiting enthusiastic bachelor graduates with good academic records in their respective professional areas as high school teachers even if they don’t have an ma or a teacher’s degree.El artículo es una reflexión sobre la importancia de exponer a los estudiantes de los últimos años del bachillerato a una lectura cualificada de entre cuatro y seis libros por año y luego a redactar reflexiones breves sobre cada una de las susodichas lecturas, antes que limitarse a pensar en contenidos específicos del currículo entendido éste como listas de libros de lectura obligatoria. Se sugiere, además, reclutar recién graduados universitarios entusiastas y de buen desempeño en las respectivas carreras como profesores de bachillerato de las distintas materias en la educación pública y/o privada aunque no tengan maestría o formación previa como pedagogos
