Reliability of the force measurement by manual dynamometry in hemiparetic subjects after stroke : a systematic review

O objetivo desta pesquisa foi verificar na base de dados científicos se existe confiabilidade entre diferentes medidas de força muscular aferidas pelo dinamômetro manual em teste/reteste em indivíduos hemiparéticos após AVE. Dois pesquisadores buscaram nas bases de dados PubMed, Medline, Lilacs, Scielo, Scopus, PEDro e Web of Science databases, no período entre agosto de 2017 e março de 2018, estudos de confiabilidade com dinamômetro isométrico manual em participantes com AVE, sem restrição quanto ao sexo e idade. Sete estudos foram incluídos, totalizando uma amostra de 227 participantes com idade média em anos de 59 (±31.8). Todos obtiveram o desfecho de força muscular, com valores iniciais de 74.53N a 238.01N e finais de 98.06N a 244.28N. Os estudos mostraram alta confiabilidade de acordo com os valores de CCI, que variou de 0.91 a 0.98. Conclui-se que o dinamômetro manual se mostrou confiável nas medidas de força muscular teste/reteste em indivíduos pós AVE dentre os artigos analisados.The handgrip is a convenient and fast method that can be used as a quantitative measure for evaluation and monitoring of motor recovery in people suffering from hemiparesis after a stroke. The objective of this research was to verify in the scientific database if there is reliability between different measures of muscular strength measured by the manual dynamometer in test / retest in hemiparetic individuals after stroke. Two researchers searched the PubMed, Medline, Lilacs, Scielo, Scopus, PEDro and Web of Science databases, between August 2017 and March 2018, for reliability studies with manual isometric dynamometer in participants with stroke, without restriction to sex and age. Seven studies were included, totaling a sample of 227 participants with mean age in years of 59 (± 31.8). All achieved the end of muscular strength, with initial values of 74.53N to 238.01N and final values of 98.06N to 244.28N. The studies showed high reliability according to ICC values, which ranged from 0.91 to 0.98. It was concluded that the manual dynamometer was reliable in the measures of muscle strength test-retest in individuals post stroke among the articles analyzed
