The purpose of this paper is to investigate the interregional disparities of medical services and care services in Niigata Prefecture and to study a measure for correcting disparities. As people become older, a risk of illness and injury increases, it is necessary to enrich medical services and care services for elderly. And it is important that they can receive medical and care services equally and fairly as much as possible. In correcting the interregional disparity, the effort by the local government are of course important, and the role of the national government is also indispensable. The special measure for a small-scale local government in the disadvantaged areas is needed
