Tinnitus is defined as the perception of various sounds or noises without any external stimuli, and it reflects a variety of pathological conditions involving the cochlea, auditory nerve and other structures related to hearing. Many patients with hearing loss, especially those with sensorineural hearing loss, complain of tinnitus. The pitch match test for tinnitus was applied to 200 ears in 151 patients, 74 males and 77 females. Presbyacusis in 23 ears, industrial hearing loss in 15 ears, idiopathic sensorineural hearing loss in 8 ears, and normal hearing with tinnitus in 48 ears were investigated.
