Levels of soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1) in sera, urinary N-methylhistamine and tryptase in sera were measured in 58 infants less than 2 year of age and compared between the following populations ; 1) wheezer's population (aged 11.9±6.2 months on the average) and non-wheezer's population (aged 10.5±4.9 months on the average), 2) asthmatic patients (called APS positive group) and non asthmatic patients (called APS negative group) diagnosed by Akasaka's criterion in wheezers, 3) asthmatic patients and non asthmatic patients diagnosed by Tabachnik & Levison's criterion in all subjects. sICAM-1 in sera and urinary N-methylhistamine levels were not significantly different between wheezer's population and non wheezer's popula...
