This paper deals with the study on hydrological origins of groundwater runoff that were measured at two small basins in Okimi landslide in Southern Niigata Prefecture, Japan. The study shows the appreciable contribution of high groundwater runoff to the landslide movement that has been depicted by the runoff observation at the two small basins A and B. The observation of groundwater runoff was carried out for over one year. The following results were obtained from the study: 1) Chemical analysis on components of groundwater shows significant difference of chemical composition of groundwater between the two small basins A and B.
