Report of an Experiment to Prepare an Effective Transmission of the Video Content and Image Properties for a Correspondence Course in General Arts, using a VOD System.

The objective is to prepare a total VOD system which has video contents made by each faculty member of their lecture. This is expected to improve student understanding for each subject. In this experiment, for the purpose of making practical video contents and basic communication systems using video cameras in classroom, during a lecture, I selected 6 kinds of compact disks for background music. The aim is to make a more attractive video contents. I also designed a video data wiring structure between a computer practice room and another monitoring room, for the video on demand system connection. It is confirmed that the prepared compact disks were used effectively to enhance video contents and also it was confirmed that the video data transmission was possible between the rooms: for simultaneous recording and broadcasting. This basic research will be useful for resource management of video contents developed in Niigata University
