The aim of this paper is to describe the situation of the Japanese Language Teaching (JLT) activities, which are now carried out in various areas of Japan, by Japanese volunteers in order to teach foreigners. In this paper we make a proposal of the contents that these activities should be composed. Almost all of JLT activities are now offered in place of Japanese study. The activities take place through a relationship where there is distinction between those who teach (teachers) and those who learn (leaners); and these are not seen as equals.
