It is often said that Japanese and Korean are similar but because of that, some expressions are difficult to learn for Korean learners of the Japanese language. Especially, '-temorau' in Japanese is difficult because there is no similar expression to that in Korean, whereas in both languages giving and receiving verbs are often used as assisting verbs. In this paper 1) I compare the giving and receiving expressions in both languages. 2) I show the actual results of my questionnaires which yield the fruit of this research on how Korean learners of the Japanese language use giving and receiving verbs in Japanese
