Design and implementation of a genetic algorithm-based system for management and optimization of software development working teams

This project combines together topics and technologies related to human resources, team management and software development methodologies all combined with the support of Genetic Algorithms. The aim of this project is the optimization and management of software development working teams; its purpose is to help people in charge of managing teams at the time of configuring and designing working teams, saving them time, money and helping them to design the most suitable team for a project. In order to achieve this objective, a Genetic Algorithm-Based System was designed. The objective of the system is the creation and selection of the fittest team configurations given a certain set of parameters specific to the project. The results of the experimentation process demonstrated that the system is capable of providing desirable team configurations which match in a significant percentage with the teams that an expert project manager would configure. This project could make a difference in the way working teams are traditionally configured and there could be a new path to follow by extending it to different areas of work and study.Ingeniería Informátic
