The purpose of this report is to investigate the technical and economic potential with small scale absorptions chillers (<200 kW cooling capacity). The investigation is done though a life cycle cost analysis comparing absorption chillers to compressor chillers of equal cooling capacity. The analysis includes costs for installation, maintenance/operation and energy (heat/electricity). The emphasis is put on the conditions present in Västerås, and customers connected to the district heating network. The results are presented in the form of a number of different case studies.
