How does newspaper giants, like Göteborgs-Posten (GP) and Dagens Nyheter (DN), work with the local material and how much space do they leave on the pages for their ”own city” and its news? Do these newspapers differ in this matter or do they work in similar ways? This study aims to give us some answers to these questions. To be able to get answers as truthful as possible we have compared 12 copies of the newspapers (6 numbers of GP, and 6 numbers of DN) and in total a number of 1205 articles from both newspapers. By using a chart, with different variables, filling in the right numbers we have been able to keep statistics on how much local material the two newspapers use.
