Background: Trauma is one of today’s most common cause of death for people under 45 years in Sweden. Time is a crucial factor for trauma care and a fast treatment can be crucial for the survival of the patient. A computed tomography scan (CT scan) is the most valuable tool for diagnosing injuries caused by trauma. Shortcomings in the implementation of CT scanning can affect efficiency and patient safety. Aim: The aim of this literature overview was to illustrate factors that affects the implementation of a CT trauma scan.
