Växelkurskanalens effekt vid reporänteförändringar

With today's expansive monetary policy, it is of relevance to study the relationships between the Swedish repo rate and the exchange rates and how these effects the Swedish barter and as an extension the inflation. To see if the lowering of the repo rate has the desired effect on inflation even with low or negative repo rates. The essay uses correlations to study relationships between the repo rate and the exchange rates between Sweden, USA and the EMU. The essay also studies the relationship between the exchange rates and the barter of Sweden to USA and EMU in order to draw conclusions on how the Swedish repo rate affects the trading between these regions. The studied timeframe is January 1999 till February 2015. The conclusions of the essay is that a lowering of the repo rate seems to depreciate the krona. A relationship between the exchange rates and the barter to the different regions could however not be established.Validerat; 20150616 (global_studentproject_submitter
