Du som är pianist kan väl spela lite orgel? : En studie i tre klaviaturinstrument och deras användning i olika musikaliska sammanhang

After many years of piano playing, focusing on classical music with the acoustic piano in focus, I realized when I started playing rock and pop that is was assumed that I would master a variety of keyboard instruments. A bit problematic, because there is nothing that says that you are a good organ player just because you are an accomplished pianist. In my thesis I wanted to go into some different keyboard instrument and explore how I used them in different musical contexts. I wrote three songs, one for each selected instrument (piano, organ, Clavinet) and recorded them without keyboard. Then I did one version of each song with each instrument to see how I played in different ways depending on the instrument. As a final step, I let a couple of more experienced keyboard players do a couple of versions, preferably the combination of song and instruments that I found most difficult to see how they proceeded problems compared to me.
