This Master’s Thesis investigates the possibility to combine Web Services and mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). Web Services provide methods on how to distribute services over the Internet in a standardized way. In order to distribute services in a decentralized manner the peer-to-peer (P2P) model was adopted. JXTA, an open network platform for P2P computing, was chosen as P2P platform. With JXTA as starting-point, three obstacles have been identified during the working process: how to distribute Web Services using JXTA, how to deploy JXTA in mobile ad hoc networks and how JXTA is deployed in devices with limited resources.
