In this project, the effect of ilmenite grain size for the removal of methylene blue in photocatalytic processes was studied, for this it was necessary to execute milling and sieving unit operations, obtaining different grain sizes for the ilmenite, with the order to find the most relevant size to mix with activated carbon; where the ilmenite was the catalyst for the photocatalysis process and the activated carbon the support. Subsequently, discs with different mixtures of ilmenite / activated carbon were constructed, where the removal of methylene blue was evaluated for 1 hour, with results above 90%.
