Natural rubber (NR) is largely used in the tire industry due to its excellent mechanical properties, e.g. its very good resistance to fatigue crack growth at high strain. It is generally accepted that this outstanding behavior is related to its ability to crystallize under strain. Such phenomenon, so called SIC, strongly depends on parameters like temperature, strain rate as well as the architecture of the rubber network.
